Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Ten+ years of aerospace vehicle modeling, trajectory simulation, GNC analysis or related work.
• Experience with missile defense system architecture and elements.
• Experience with C++ or Python.
• Experience integrating models into larger modeling and simulation architectures.
• Experience organizing software projects and using Git.
• Experience developing guidance algorithms or flight dynamics models.
• Familiarity with Monte Carlo analysis, sensitivity studies, or trade studies.
• Ability to synthesize vehicle data and engineering inputs into simulation models.
• Active Secret or higher security clearance and on-site Huntsville, AL work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and run trajectory simulations for missiles, spacecraft, hypersonic vehicles, and other aerospace systems.
• Build, validate, and maintain 3-DOF and 6-DOF vehicle models.
• Model vehicle dynamics, propulsion, aerodynamics, navigation, guidance, and control behavior.
• Evaluate model performance and verify implementations against expected behavior.
• Conduct trajectory, performance, and trade-space analyses to answer complex questions.
• Optimize simulation performance for integration into larger modeling environments.
• Collaborate with software developers, analysts, and SMEs to support tool development.
• Document modeling approaches, assumptions, results, and findings.
