Job summary

KBR in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Quality Engineer to review flight hardware quality controls, manage non-conformance and corrective actions, and support MRRs/TRRs with manufacturing and test readiness.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 10+ years in quality engineering, with aerospace experience and familiarity with soldering, conformal coatings, and IPC/NASA standards. Experience on NASA projects encouraged; competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years Quality Engineering experience.
• NASA or aerospace industry experience.
• GMIPS for Electronic Boards.
• Pre-cap inspection of hybrid microcircuits.
• 100% solder joints prior to conformal coating.
• 100% conformal coatings on flight wiring assemblies.
• Final workmanship inspection prior to box level final closure.
• Connector mates to mission hardware integrated into spacecraft.
• General workmanship quality prior to final acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure flight hardware anomalies, corrective actions, and re-verifications are documented per non-conformance system.
• Participate in production planning, review manufacturing flow plans, and MRRs/TRRs.
• Examine process design/qualification records and verify labs have required certifications.
• Review flight hardware records and address open items before tests.
• Monitor contractor quality and safety controls; participate in QA during fabrication, integration, and tests.
• QAR monitoring.
• Support root-cause corrective actions.
• Support data collection/analysis of supplier performance.
• Review supplier CDRL documents and provide recommendations.
• Review flight hardware records for completeness prior to integration and final acceptance testing.
• Perform final instrument buy-off reviews.
• Complete thorough inspections.
