Job summary

Epic Aircraft, LLC in Bend, Oregon is seeking an Experienced Aerospace Painter to join the Paint and Body Shop Team. The role focuses on final appearance, finish, and quality of completed aircraft, requiring independent management of complex refinishing tasks with strong craftsmanship.

The position demands 3+ years in aerospace or high-quality finishing settings, expertise with base coat/clear coat and tri-coat systems, color sanding, masking, and defect correction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional painting and refinishing in aerospace/auto/repair or equivalent high‑quality finishing environment (no house painting)
• Demonstrated paint application and refinishing techniques
• Experience with single-stage, base coat/clear coat and tri-coat systems
• Color sanding, cutting, buffing, blending and paint defect correction experience
• Strong surface prep, masking, paint application and finishing understanding
• Ability to perform complex repairs and refinishing with minimal supervision
• Identify finish defects and determine corrective actions
• Experience with fiberglass/composites is preferred
• Attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
• Read and follow work instructions, specifications and quality requirements
• Accurately complete required documentation
• Self-motivated, dependable, organized, multitasker
• Work well independently and in a team
• Positive, professional and safety‑minded
• Willingness to learn new techniques and materials
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorhip

Responsibilities

• Perform professional painting and refinishing on completed aircraft and components
• Apply single-stage, base coat/clear coat, tri-coat systems
• Execute complex bodywork and refinishing on finished aircraft
• Color sand, cut and buff to achieve high-gloss finishes
• Identify and correct paint defects and surface imperfections
• Mask and protect aircraft surfaces and components
• Inspect finished work for color, gloss, texture, and coverage
• Document production and quality activities accurately
• Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in good condition
• Work independently and communicate with team to coordinate tasks
• Support continuous improvement of paint and finishing processes
• Adhere to safety, PPE and environmental requirements
• Overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
