Job summary

GAL AeroStaff Ltd. in Mesa, AZ is seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter to support aircraft painting and finishing operations in a busy hangar environment.

The role requires preparing, painting, and finishing aircraft surfaces to achieve a smooth, durable finish, with a strong understanding of aviation coatings and surface preparation techniques. Prior painting experience in aerospace is highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous aircraft painting or related automotive or industrial painting experience required.
• Experience with aviation coatings and paint systems preferred.
• Aircraft painting or related certification preferred.
• Previous experience in an aircraft maintenance or repair environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
• Apply paints, coatings, and finishes using spray guns, rollers, brushes, and other applicable equipment.
• Mix and prepare paint materials in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures.
• Inspect painted surfaces for bubbles, streaks, inconsistencies, and other finish defects.
• Correct paint and surface discrepancies as required.
• Operate spray booths, air compressors, and other specialized painting equipment.
• Read and follow technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed.
• Assist with maintaining paint and material inventory as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other technicians to meet production and quality requirements.
• Follow established safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
