Job summary

Canvas is seeking a senior aerospace engineer with extensive experience in designing and integrating hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft. The role requires leading design and integration efforts with a focus on airworthiness analyses and structural integrity.

The position involves guiding hardware development, performing feasibility studies for design improvements, and establishing standards such as TACC/MACC while addressing structural and corrosion

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET highly desired).
• Ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline; five years in the DoD or other USG ISR/SOF Organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET highly desired) with 12 years of experience in the discipline; five years in DoD or USG ISR/SOF.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft undergoing heavy depot level maintenance and modification.
• Perform in all phases of hardware design, development, integration/implementation, and analysis.
• Plan and conduct engineering feasibility studies for design improvement modifications and implementation of advanced technologies.
• Develop standards and guidelines for tasks, including Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC) or MACC modifications.
• Develop structural and corrosion repairs.
