Job summary

Science and Technology Corporation (STC) is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Liaison to provide part-time technical support to NASA Langley Research Center’s D204 organization under the MCHFSS-II contract.

The Senior Manufacturing Liaison will serve as a manufacturing subject matter expert, supporting the assessment, planning, and execution of complex test article and research hardware fabrication requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in advanced manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or related disciplines.
• Experience supporting complex research, aerospace, flight, prototype, or one-of-a-kind hardware fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of machining, materials, fabrication methods and standards.
• Ability to identify manufacturing risks and propose technically sound solutions or alternatives.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, technicians, and management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior manufacturing SME and liaison among engineering, fabrication, and project stakeholders.
• Assess test article requirements for manufacturability and risk.
• Recommend fabrication methods, materials, material substitutions, machining practices, and manufacturing approaches.
• Support fabrication planning for metallic, composite, flight, research, and wind tunnel hardware.
• Participate in project review boards and planning meetings.
• Identify manufacturing risks, constraints, long-lead materials, and potential schedule impacts early in the project lifecycle.
• Assist with manufacturing source selection and buy/make decisions.
• Develop fabrication and project execution plans with managers.
• Evaluate fabrication bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
• Recommend manufacturing process improvements.
• Promote communication between engineering customers and fabrication personnel.
