Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Port Arthur, TX seeks an experienced Manufacturing/Production Engineer with expertise in aerospace and defense. Lead PFMEA creation, tooling design, and shop-floor improvements across complex electromechanical systems.

Strong CAD and lean practices are essential, plus collaboration with global teams. Base salary range reflects senior-level manufacturing engineering with exposure to advanced materials and MBSE workflows.

Qualifications

5+ years' experience in Aerospace and Defense industry.
7-10 years of manufacturing / production engineering experience, ideally in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
Expert in 2D drafting and 3D CAD with ability to create and update drawings.
Proficient in 2D drafting & 3D CAD (SOLIDWORKS / ALTIUM / CATIA / Creo / NX), GD&T, PFMEA templates, VSM / lean tooling.
Experience drafting PFMEA, work instructions, routings, and shop-floor documentation.
Lean tools experience: Value Stream Mapping, TAKT / cycle-time analysis, cell-layout optimization.
Familiarity with tooling design and retro-engineering of legacy parts.
Shop-floor collaboration with operators, quality, and client focal points.
Experience with aerospace integrated systems (mechanical, electrical, software) and composites.
Experience with MBSE is a plus.

Responsibilities

Document current operations and shop-floor instructions.
Create PFMEA for the manufacturing process.
Design tooling or perform retro-engineering and plan tooling maintenance.
Create or update shop-aid drawings and work instructions to bridge design changes.
Update routing and work orders to reflect optimized processes.
Calculate and optimize TAKT and cycle time.
Perform Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
Identify bottlenecks and optimize shop-floor layouts.
Create or update ATP and support testing.
Define packaging specifications for BUY items.
Support engineering signature release loop from manufacturing.
Collaborate with global delivery teams to drive quality and client performance.
