San José State University Research Foundation (SJSURF) seeks a senior-level aerospace engineer to lead research and development in flight controls, handling qualities, and autonomy for manned and unmanned rotorcraft. The role collaborates with the Army’s TDD and NASA Ames teams on advanced flight control systems.

Responsibilities include mentorship, software validation, and integration of modeling tools with Army programs.

Qualifications

• MS in Aerospace Engineering or related field required.
• Education in numerical analysis, flight dynamics and control; aircraft simulation; linear/optimal control.
• Experience in an applied research setting is highly desired.

Responsabilités

• Perform R&D in flight controls, handling qualities, and autonomy for vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
• Provide SME to program offices and partners in listed areas.
• Support development and flight testing of the RASCAL X Vehicle Mission Management Computer.
