The San José State University Research Foundation (SJSURF) seeks a Research Associate to lead and support human-in-the-loop research at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. You will collaborate with civil service researchers and developers to advance airspace operations research and interact with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree or higher in related fields, at least five years of applied human factors research, and strong writing and data analysis skills for

Formación

• Master’s degree or higher in related field.
• Minimum of five years of applied human factors research experience.
• Experience with human-in-the-loop or human-subject simulation research.
• Experience coordinating with software developers on research systems; peer-reviewed publications preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and support design, preparation, and execution of human-in-the-loop studies.
• Develop and communicate research and UI requirements to software developers.
• Ensure the lab is orderly and in working order.
• Conduct studies as part of a research team, including participant training, data collection, and observation.
• Support facility visits and demonstrations as needed.
• Learn and maintain currency in Human Factors, aeronautics, and technology.
• Support management of the laboratory, including layout, equipment, furnishings, and accessories.
• Lead and support data collection, management, analysis, and documentation.
• Author and contribute to technical reports, publications, and briefings to NASA project management and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders to inform study design, operational concepts, and dissemination of results.
• Support User Interface design activities.
• Travel as needed.
