Job summary

The San Jose State University Research Foundation (SJSURF) seeks a senior aerospace engineer to advance flight control and autonomy research for Army and NASA Ames programs. The role focuses on rotorcraft control technologies for manned and unmanned systems, leading development, testing, and validation efforts in a collaborative environment.

You will mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and work with government and industry partners while applying MATLAB, Simulink, Python, and C/C++

Qualifications

• MS in Aerospace Engineering or related field required.
• Education in numerical analysis, flight dynamics and control; aircraft simulation; linear control theory.
• Experience in an applied research setting is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform R&D in flight controls, handling qualities, and autonomy for VTOL aircraft.
• Provide subject matter expertise to program offices and industry partners.
• Mentor junior engineers and support development and validation activities.
