The role requires TS/SCI clearance, a relevant engineering degree, 8+ years in modeling and simulation, and hands-on experience with aerospace models and simulation tools.

Job Description

Trusted Space is seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer to design, implement, and validate orbit-based algorithms in support of a larger autonomous product. This role will focus on mission workflows across Earth-centered and cislunar orbit dynamics, working collaboratively within a cross functional Agile team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine aerospace mission-dynamics and space-domain simulation models to support development of a Trusted Space autonomy product and software integration.
• Collaborate with autonomy and software engineers to validate orbit algorithm outputs and physical vehicle model behaviors.
• Generate representative mission scenario configurations for reference missions, supporting both component‑level and system‑level testing.
• Contribute aerospace-focused artifacts to documentation, training materials, and technical presentations.

Qualifications

• An active TS/SCI Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in modeling & simulation, mission dynamics, or test engineering.
• Experience developing and validating aerospace or space-domain models (orbital, attitude, sensor geometry, mission constraints).
• Hands‑on proficiency with simulation environments (e.g., Basilisk, Orekit, GMAT, etc.) and demo‑support workflows for mission environment simulations.
• Ability to collaborate with autonomy and software engineering teams in integrated Agile workflows.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Ability to understand, enhance, develop, and test codebases in C++/Rust.
• Experience with python for basic scripting and development.
• Comfortable with git version control and Agile DevOps tools (Azure, Gitlab, Jira).
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $200,000. Please note that this range is a general guideline and can vary. Trusted Space, LLC considers several factors when extending an offer including, but not limited to: scope, location, position responsibilities, education/training, key skills and business considerations.
