Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Chief Engineer for Aerospace Actuation & Actuation Systems in Shelby, NC. You will provide technical direction on hydro- and electro-mechanical actuation, motion control, and integrated aerospace systems, driving bids, NPI/IRAD projects, and governance across a matrix organization.

The role emphasizes leadership, customer communication, and adherence to aerospace standards with a focus on delivering robust, certified actuation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or equivalent) required.
• Master’s degree in engineering preferred.
• 15–30 years of experience in aerospace actuation / flight controls.
• Experience leading communications with customers on technical topics, progress and issues.
• Experience in bid & proposal creation (technical proposals, NRE estimates, etc.).
• Experience deriving requirements with traceability and compliance.
• Experience creating aerospace reliability analyses such as FMEA and FMECA.
• Experience leading root cause / corrective action initiatives via 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, or equivalent.
• Track record delivering results on time and within budget.
• Mentoring technical talent and advocating for team members.
