Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Aerodynamics Engineer to join our Melbourne, FL site. You will perform aerodynamic analysis, design and support flight test activities within a Flight Sciences context.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience, MATLAB/Simulink and related tools, and DoD clearance eligibility. You will lead, mentor multidisciplinary teams, develop reports, and contribute to bids and proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in STEM from an accredited university with 12 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment.
Master’s in STEM from an accredited university with 10 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment.
Active In-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain Active In-Scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
SMT (Supplier Management Team) experience.
Knowledge of design, analysis and/or engineering tools development.
MATLAB experience; FORTRAN experience a plus.
Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience locating and examining technical data from CAD.

Responsibilities

Perform aerodynamic analysis and design for development and production programs.
Design aircraft using sizing tools and exploring design space.
Document analysis results and generate technical reports and CD R/Ls.
Support flight test planning, data telemetry, data monitoring, and briefings.
Reduce, review, analyze and correlate aerodynamic data from flight tests and wind tunnel tests.
Collaborate within a Flight Sciences organization across disciplines.
Advocate for new tool development on legacy programs.
Experience with wind tunnel testing and flight demonstration activities.
