Job summary

Radia, Inc. is seeking an experienced aerodynamics engineer to design, loft, and optimize components affecting the aircraft’s aerodynamics and outer mold line.

You will build models, create CFD meshes, and run simulations to support concept through certification phases, while correlating results with wind tunnel and flight data. Strong scripting, CAD, and HPC skills are essential to mentor juniors and guide cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years with a B.S., 10+ years with an M.S., or 8+ years with a Ph.D. modeling subsonic, fixed-wing aerodynamics using CFD and validating with wind-tunnel data.
• Expert-level knowledge of subsonic, fixed-wing aerodynamics; CFD theory background.

Responsibilities

• Design and loft components affecting aerodynamics and OML.
• Run CFD simulations and build/clean CAD geometry; generate meshes for analysis.
• Develop aerodynamic databases for performance prediction and 6-DOF simulations.
• Validate CFD against wind tunnel/flight data and iterate models.
