Job summary

L3Harris MMG Division is seeking a Senior Aerodynamics & Aircraft Performance Engineer for our onsite facility located in Waco, TX.

The Senior Aerodynamics & Aircraft Performance Engineer will perform aerodynamics analysis and provide ground and flight test support for fixed wing and rotary aircraft to evaluate the effect of aircraft modifications on the vehicle performance, and to compute the effect of modifications on aircraft aerodynamic loads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 9+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience: wind tunnel testing (≥2 years), aircraft performance analysis (≥2 years), CFD analyses (≥2 years).
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics theory, CFD, and numerical methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform steady-state and time accurate CFD analyses.
• Plan, support, and execute Wind Tunnel Tests.
• Plan and support aerodynamic design optimization studies.
• Perform comparative analyses of predicted aerodynamics with test data.
• Lead method and tool development and enhancement activities.
