Job summary

Parsons is seeking an AEGIS Based Defense Software Engineer to join our Federal Solutions team in Dahlgren, VA. You will work with a mission-focused group of engineers and officers to deliver missile defense software for the Fleet.

The role requires an active Secret clearance, a Bachelor's degree in engineering, and 5+ years of missile systems experience. You will design, develop, test, and integrate software across Aegis platforms and participate in flight tests.

Qualifications

US Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
5+ years of related professional experience.
Mastery of MS Office and familiarity with Jira, Confluence or Teams.
Missile System Experience.

Responsibilities

Address Next Generation Missile Defense threats and upgrades for SM-6 software.
Support design, development, testing, and integration of missile software into Aegis systems.
Oversee software for missile guidance, navigation, and 6DOF flight simulations.
Contributes to software architecture design, requirements analysis, detailed design, and code reviews.
Supports Aegis Under Layer, Aegis Weapon System, and Aegis Guam testing activities.
Participates in flight tests and data analysis.
Manages technical meetings and design reviews for software activities.
Oversees progress of development sprints and backlog management.
Defines long-term technical strategies and architectural roadmaps.
Supports analysis of Real World Events prompting software updates.
