Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta seeks a Community and Economic Development Research Advisor/Senior Advisor to produce original quantitative research on affordable housing and housing policy. The role sets an annual research agenda and collaborates with economists and practitioners across the Bank.

You will translate findings into practical insights for the Sixth District, mentor analysts, and contribute to publications and public talks while advancing the Bank's mission and knowledge

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Public Policy, Economics, or a related quantitative social science field or commensurate research experience in an affordable housing topical area.
  • Experience independently designing and completing research projects.
  • Established record of applied and/or scholarly publication on topics related to affordable housing, housing policy, or broader housing dynamics affecting low- and moderate-income populations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced quantitative research methods.

Responsibilities

  • Leads research design and writing of quantitative research on affordable housing topics. Identifies new research opportunities and proposes a research agenda.
  • Produces written reports for publication in the Department’s Discussion Papers and short-form publications and may author academic journal publications as appropriate.
  • Translates quantitative research into actionable insights for housing stakeholders throughout the Sixth District.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with other researchers and practitioners in support the Department's research and engagement strategy.
  • Through data analysis and a network of community contacts, contributes to the regular monitoring of affordable housing trends in the Sixth District.
  • Briefs Bank leadership on Sixth District affordable housing trends and related issues to enhance understanding of barriers and opportunities experienced by low- and moderate-income populations.
  • Mentors Community and Economic Development analysts and staff.
  • Contributes to the overall research environment by attending internal seminars and providing feedback on other's work.
