The Australian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York seeks a Senior Adviser, Humanitarian, to coordinate Australia's humanitarian policy and actions in New York and UN processes. This role reports to the Counsellor for development and humanitarian issues and involves advising on humanitarian dimensions of Security Council matters.

It is a non-ongoing, full-time position with a competitive USD salary package and benefits.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and coordinate the Australian Mission’s strategic engagement on humanitarian policy and action in New York and related priorities.
• Provide specialist policy advice and support the development of Australian positions in UN processes.
• Represent Australia in UN processes, including General Assembly, ECOSOC and Security Council discussions.
• Contribute to engagement on humanitarian and development system reform and strengthen links between humanitarian, peacebuilding and peacekeeping efforts.
• Provide strategic advice on humanitarian dimensions of Security Council matters and identify opportunities for Australia’s interests.
