Job summary

World Vision in New York is seeking a senior leader to head humanitarian policy, advocacy and external engagement. You will connect global policy work with field realities, coordinating with regional and field offices to shape strategic directions.

Based in New York, this role leads a globally distributed team and partners with UN agencies, donor governments and NGOs to advance child-focused humanitarian outcomes and principled action across the Partnership.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in humanitarian action, policy, advocacy, partnerships or related fields.
• Extensive field-based humanitarian experience, including large emergencies and coordination mechanisms.
• Postgraduate degree in international relations, humanitarian affairs, public policy or related field.
• Strong knowledge of humanitarian diplomacy, multilateral processes and policy influencing with UN engagement.
• Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level representation within the UN system and broader humanitarian architecture, especially in New York.
• Lead the humanitarian policy, advocacy and external engagement agenda with strategic direction.
• Direct a globally dispersed team, coordinating across NY, Geneva, Rome and other hubs.
• Ensure priorities are aligned across Disaster Management and Advocacy & External Engagement functions.
• Strengthen partnerships and influence through field realities, evidence and policy engagement.
