Job summary

Covington & Burling LLP is seeking an experienced cyber security professional to lead offensive security initiatives across enterprise environments, including endpoints, servers, identity platforms, applications, and cloud services. Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience performing tests, red team ops and adversary emulation.
• Proficient in manual testing across web, API, cloud and mobile apps.
• Ability to validate vulnerabilities in real-world settings and communicate risk.
• Strong collaboration with VM, SOC, and engineering teams.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled security tools desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration testing, red team activities, and adversary emulation across enterprise environments.
• Leverage AI-powered resources to conduct red team and vulnerability management tasks.
• Validate vulnerabilities identified through scans and CTI for exploitability.
• Identify chained vulnerabilities and systemic weaknesses to assess risk.
• Contribute to purple team engagements with detection and IR teams.
• Support risk-based prioritization by mapping vulnerabilities to assets.
• Collaborate with VM analysts to improve assessment quality.
• Stay current on threat intelligence trends and exploit development.
• Explain findings to IT and security teams and validate remediation.
• Document findings clearly in internal systems with business impact.
• Contribute to VM program improvement.
• Perform additional duties for CISO-org.
