Senior Advanced Quality Engineer

Job Summary
This position is responsible for product launch advanced quality planning duties, as defined by the YFAI IOS requirements and applicable customer requirements. These responsibilities are typically assigned and executed for specific launch programs. The position reports to the Senior Advanced Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop the Past Problem Roadmap for launch programs.
- Facilitate and participate in the engineering development of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DMEA) documents for assigned launch programs.
- Facilitate and participate in the manufacturing development of Process Flows (PF) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documents for assigned launch programs.
- Facilitate and ensure the development of Design and Process Control Plans based on customer requirements, Characteristic Matrix, and FMEAs.
- Facilitate and ensure the development of appropriate Measurement System Analysis (MSA) plans for the launch, including identifying statistical tools and techniques for process capability assessment and verifying measuring devices are included in the Control Plan and Scorecard.
- Ensure the timely preparation and delivery of new product launch-related Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages.
- Ensure that launch-related customer, internal, and supplier quality corrective actions (8D’s) meet the required timing, quality, and format.
- Ensure proper performance and documentation of initial capability studies for initial builds and product changes affecting special characteristics, meeting customer and internal requirements or obtaining written customer deviations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable customer-specific quality systems and requirements.
- Maintain IMDS compliance where applicable.
- Attend all System Simultaneous Development Team meetings and provide required quality documents per program timing.
- Facilitate and participate in Engineering Design Reviews of specifications and drawings related to the system, and develop the Characteristic Matrix.
- Assist and support the Supplier Quality Engineer, including supplier selection, kick-off meetings, and process sign-off.
- Support DV/PV builds and verify parts meet dimensional and functional requirements.
- Develop appropriate inspection and containment plans for launch.
- Lead internal audits, report findings, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or Science-related field with 5+ years of related experience. ASQ certification, such as CQE, is highly desirable.
Work Experience
- Experience with ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems; Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable.
- Experience in Advanced Quality Planning with proficiency in AIAG standards including FMEA, PFMEA, Poke Yokes, PPAPs, MSA, GD&T, and SPC.
- Product audit experience (cubing preferred) or experience with VDA 6.5 and VDA 6.3.
- Experience working directly with automotive customers and suppliers.
- Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Six Sigma certification or equivalent; Black Belt and Minitab experience are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable.
- Experience with German/European OEMs, preferably VW.
- Proficiency in computer and office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings are desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including experience with 8D and Ishikawa tools.
