Job summary

INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA in Alvin, TX is seeking an Advanced Process Control Engineer to lead APC initiatives across olefins and polypropylene processes. You will troubleshoot, develop, and implement APC applications using DMC and Process Perfecter while providing training and documentation to operations staff.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving and cross-disciplinary collaboration, with a focus on safety and environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• The individual will have a minimum of 12 years’ experience in chemical, refining or industrial manufacturing and/or capital projects with prior responsibility for and familiarity with DCS functions and applications and preferably with previous APC experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and support of existing APC applications using DMC (AspenTech) and Process Perfecter (Pavilion/Rockwell)
• Develop and implement new APC applications
• Provide advanced process control documentation and training to operations and technical staff
• The position will participate in alarm management, control loop monitoring and new control technologies initiatives
• Maintain and improve DMC applications across Olefins and PP units
• Coordinate with OT group for server maintenance, backups, and security patches
• Identify new APC applications and estimate cost/benefit with operations
• Stay updated on industry best practices and opportunities for site improvements
