Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) seeks an Advanced Materials & Technology Engineer to advance materials development for high-speed interconnects. You will evaluate new materials, run lab and pilot-scale tests, and collaborate with Development, NPI, and manufacturing teams to translate findings into scalable solutions.

The role requires strong knowledge of polymers and metals, experience in plastics and metals processing, and proficiency with material characterization techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Plastics/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in materials development or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience with polymers and metals in electronics/interconnect industries.
• Knowledge of injection molding, metal forming, plating, coatings.
• Experience with polymer flow software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess new materials and processes to support technology roadmap.
• Conduct lab- and pilot-scale experiments to prototype and validate technologies.
• Perform root-cause analysis for material and process issues.
• Support material characterization, reliability testing, and performance benchmarking.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support tech transfer and scale-up of validated processes to manufacturing.
