Job summary

Yanfeng Global Automotive Interiors is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Louisville to lead feasibility assessments for design changes and quality concerns, develop process flow and plant layouts, and define capital equipment within budget. You will review gaging strategies and packaging plans, ensuring alignment with overall manufacturing strategy and launches.

Requirements include a BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering and 5+ years in manufacturing/ tooling, with Automotive interiors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing or tooling.
• Experience in Automotive interiors preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
• Experience communicating across multiple levels internally and externally.
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical problem solving.
• Knowledge of work flow, line balance and takt time.
• Experience with AutoCAD, PLC Programming and Automation.
• DOE and data driven studies experience; Six Sigma/Lean training.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

• 1.Provide manufacturing feasibility assessments for product design, engineering changes, scope changes and quality concerns.
• 2.Develop process flow and plant layout requirements.
• 3.Review product gaging and packaging strategies and assess the impact of those assumptions on the overall manufacturing strategy.
• 4.Define capital equipment and tooling required and maintain adherence to the budget of the program.
• 5.Project manage the procurement and acceptance of required equipment & tooling.
• 6.Facilitate the implementation of production equipment/tooling into the manufacturing facility and any corresponding technical training.
• 7.Complete Process FMEA and manage RPN risks.
• 8.Assess the product, process, equipment and tooling strategies for potential ergonomic concerns and manage action items to resolve.
• 9.Support customer part needs through pilot, testing, run-at-rate and internal process sign offs.
• 10.Create and support continuous improvement projects.

Requirement

Education/MajorBachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Plastics or Engineering Technology required (BSME or BSMET or similar)

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering advanced manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, or similar
• Experience in Automotive/Manufacturing (Tier One Automotive interiors experience preferred, not required)
• Candidates must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance.
• Candidate must have experience communicating at multiple levels internally and externally
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical problem solving
• Work flow, line balance and takt time
• Experience with AutoCAD, PLC Programming, and Automation
• Leadership of DOE and data driven studies experience
• Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Improvement training or experience
• Candidates must demonstrate technical and project management skills
• Familiar with entire product life including development, launch and production.
• Understands and demonstrates the ability to work with and improve documented manufacturing standards.
