Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

The regional AME will work closely with the NA operations team to understand top issues and projects within YF manufacturing facilities. The incumbent will support YF plants in resolving scrap and efficiency issues, drive process methodology change, and evaluate technical talent. They will support injection molding facilities through hands-on floor activities. The regional support AME will coach internal talent on best practices, processes, and procedures related to injection molding.

• Develop and implement training materials for the operations team in collaboration with the Operations department.
• Work with the technical development team to implement and sustain a common processing strategy, ensuring fluency in scientific molding principles, eDART, pressure transfer, and 2/3 stage molding techniques.
• Evaluate processing issues at plants, determine corrective actions, advise on plans, and execute solutions. Analyze DOE results to identify root causes.
• Manage plant-level projects by collecting data, understanding processes on the floor, and resolving issues.
• Develop, implement, and promote Yanfeng's best business practices across NA facilities.
• Document project findings, prepare reports, and share lessons learned with plant technical staff and other NA plants.
• Possess extensive experience with robotic handling systems, including robot programming and optimization.
• Assess operations for automation improvements, training needs, and process enhancements.
• Maintain strong knowledge of tooling and the integration of tool and process requirements, understanding the YF tool prove-out process.
• Identify capital improvement opportunities, prepare justifications, and oversee approval and implementation processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Plastics, or Engineering Technology (BSME, BSMET, or similar).
• Thorough understanding of mold change requirements and experience with SMED methods.
• Hands-on experience with injection molding equipment, robotics, and auxiliary systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective team collaboration and ability to gain respect from plant operations teams.
• Excellent communication skills across all management levels.
• Hands-on problem-solving skills and active involvement on the plant floor.
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed.
• Strong understanding of Facilities Management.
• Proven mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel up to 50% (local and national).
