Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced APU Control Systems Engineer to design, develop, and integrate advanced aerospace control systems for gas turbine engines. You will own systems across their lifecycle and lead a team supporting production and fielded hardware.

Responsibilities include managing design changes, coordinating with suppliers and project engineers, ensuring compliance with aerospace requirements, and planning substantiation and testing for ECUs including cabin pressure systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Systems Engineering.
  • 5+ years of product development, systems integration, and production/factory support for aerospace safety-critical systems.
  • U.S. Person under U.S. export control laws.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship.

Job description

  • Design, develop, and integrate highly complex systems for APU gas turbine engines
  • Own systems and components throughout the systems life cycle, from business development through product end of life
  • Lead all aspects of APU control systems engineering, emphasizing production and factory support for electronic control units
  • Manage design aspects, obsolescence, and revisions to drawings at all levels and sub-assemblies
  • Guide a team of engineers supporting the site
  • Manage engineering support cases and distribute team workload
  • Ensure Engineering Change Notices meet high-quality standards and optimize review cycles
  • Plan substantiation for product support cases, including testing when required
  • Support ECUs for cabin pressure systems and engine propulsion
  • Resolve production support cases and release associated Engineering Change Notices
  • Provide technical substantiation of design changes
  • Partner with project engineers and collaborate with component engineering, materials, mechanical, certification, test services, configuration management, and data management teams
  • Ensure supplier and build-to-print drawings and parts comply with Honeywell Aerospace requirements
  • Reconcile product requirements with system-level or customer requirements
  • Integrate product design into larger systems and applications
  • Communicate with suppliers, customers, and project engineering regarding product development and production support
  • Participate in planning and scheduling, integrate supplier schedules into program schedules, and establish component-level milestones
  • Author and track coordination memos and manage responses to suppliers and customers
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 5+ years of experience with product development, systems integration, and production/factory support for aerospace products used on safety-critical systems, including gas turbine engine controls
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person under U.S. export control laws and regulations
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • No work visa sponsorship is available for this job
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Systems Engineering
  • Advanced knowledge of systems development lifecycle
  • Direct experience with control systems components for gas turbine engines
  • Experience with test setup conformity of qualification test setup/bench
  • Significant engineering experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
