Job summary

Kensington360 is seeking an experienced R&D Manufacturing Engineering Lead for Advanced Composites in Vermont. You will lead development and deployment of AFP, RTM, ATL and autoclave processes for next-generation aerospace platforms, including eVTOL.

You will manage a growing team of engineers, drive process optimization, and ensure scalable production readiness through NPI and robust design-for-manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials Science.
• 8+ years manufacturing engineering experience including composite R&D, process development or NPI.
• Strong experience with at least two composite processes (autoclave, AFP, RTM, resin infusion, press forming, filament winding).
• Experience leading technical teams and engineering projects.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, GD&T, Lean, Six Sigma and process validation.
• Proficient with CAD (CATIA/SolidWorks) and manufacturing systems.
• Familiar with aerospace quality standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced composite manufacturing technologies (AFP, RTM, ATL, autoclave, press forming).
• Lead R&D projects on new materials, methods, cost reduction and production efficiency.
• Develop scalable processes for aerospace composites such as wings and fuselage.
• Transition technologies from prototype to production (NPI).
• Collaborate with design, materials and production to improve manufacturability and capability.
• Lead and mentor a manufacturing engineering team (initially ~3 reports).
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, DOE and SPC to optimize performance.
• Support facility expansion, equipment selection and commissioning.
• Create DFM guidelines and process control standards.
