Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Technical Support Engineer to provide specialized support for UOP CDU/VDU, Hydrotreating, Hydrocracking, Ecofining, and heavy oil technologies. You will transfer technology to UOP-licensed units and support startups from pre-commissioning through guarantee acceptance.

You will participate in customer and engineering review meetings, review PFDs/IDs/HAZOPs, and prepare manuals and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years of industry experience in CDU/VDU or Hydroprocessing.
• Experience with at least one UOP technology: Hydrotreating, Hydrocracking, Ecofining, or heavy oil technologies.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Good presentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of UOP Unicracking, Unionfining, Ecofining, Heavy Oil, and other UOP Hydroprocessing and Renewables technologies.
• Field experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for UOP CDU/VDU, Hydrotreating, Hydrocracking, Ecofining, and heavy oil technologies.
• Transfer technology for UOP-licensed or UOP-designed units and units loaded with UOP catalyst.
• Support new and revamped unit startups from pre-commissioning through guarantee acceptance.
• Support units loaded with UOP catalyst from catalyst loading through guarantee acceptance.
• Participate in customer meetings and engineering review meetings.
• Review design bases, PFDs, P&IDs, MFDs, plot plans, HAZOPs, model reviews, and related materials.
• Review commercial unit operating data and provide feedback.
• Provide office-based and on-site troubleshooting assistance.
• Conduct on-site commercial unit audits.
• Prepare and update operating manuals, process technology manuals, and training materials.
• Present UOP technology training courses in the US and abroad.
• Participate in R&D technology improvement projects and champion technology changes through MOIs.
• Author MOIs for processes within the area of responsibility.
• Participate in Technical Symposiums and Sales Meetings.
• Lead and support team development, retention, engagement, and inclusive culture initiatives.
