The University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time Admissions Counselor to enhance student recruitment efforts. This role involves engaging with prospective students, coordinating visits, and evaluating applications. The CFANS Student Services Office's mission is to serve prospective students, provide academic advising services, facilitate short term international programs, promote and support engagement opportunities for undergraduate students and provide support for the college's undergraduate teaching efforts. The Admissions/Prospective Student Services unit follows detailed annual recruitment plans that are developed in consultation with the central Office of Admissions. Our freshmen admissions counselor coordinates prospective student visits, responds to prospective student inquiries, schedules individual appointments with prospective students, communicates with prospective students and applicants to encourage them to confirm their intent to enroll, coordinates collegiate admissions events and participates in college fairs and recruitment events.
This is a 100%, full-time, 12-month, on-campus, annually renewable appointment in the academic professional and administrative (P&A) personnel series. Most work is conducted during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. However, evening and weekend work is occasionally required, as necessary, to properly execute the duties of this role. Occasional remote work may be accommodated at the description of the Assistant Dean of Student Services & International Programs when such remote work is in the interest of the University.
