Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Embedded Software Application Engineer for ADAS on North American commercial vehicle platforms. You will lead integration across ECUs, sensors, and vehicle systems, coordinating software, hardware, and validation to deliver robust ADAS features.

You will work with global teams, support deployments, perform root-cause analyses, and drive launch readiness while documenting software baselines, BOMs, and variants across programs.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of vehicle communication networks (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, UDS).
• Hands-on with network/diagnostics tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, Wireshark).
• Experience with software baselines, CM, and release processes in automotive environments.
• Proficient in C/C++ for embedded software and Python scripting.
• Experience with JIRA or similar defect/issue management tools.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis for complex software/vehicle issues.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Experience with automotive/ commercial vehicle ADAS, active safety, or autonomous driving.

Responsibilities

• Support integration, baseline deployment, and validation for ADAS across platforms.
• Lead integration of ADAS features into North American truck platforms with sensors and vehicle systems.
• Verify embedded software across ECUs, sensors, cameras, and vehicle variants.
• Perform vehicle-level diagnostics and log investigations to identify root causes.
• Support validation of ACC, AEB, LKA, and other driver-assistance functions.
• Investigate sensor, radar, camera, and network interactions affecting ADAS performance.
• Support software release/variant management and configuration activities.
• Collaborate with global teams and suppliers to resolve defects and launch blockers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and validation reports.
• Define and execute validation/testing plans including HIL/SIL and vehicle testing.
• Drive root cause analysis and issue resolution to improve feature maturity and stability.
