Job summary

SEARHC seeks a Medical Director to oversee inpatient care at Wrangel Medical Center, leading the medical staff and ensuring credentialing, evaluations, and quality review. This role collaborates with administrative teams to maintain provider enrollment and optimal clinical operations.

The incumbent will drive clinical quality improvement, coordinate with UR/ Case Management, and support accreditation efforts, including DNV and HRSA, while advancing patient safety and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years leading medical staff within a hospital/health system.
• Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Alaska.
• Experience with DNV, HRSA, EMTALA, HIPAA, and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the delivery of inpatient medical care services at Wrangel Medical Center.
• Lead medical staff and oversee recruiting, credentialing, and evaluations.
• Develop quality measures and lead improvement initiatives for accreditation.
• Collaborate with SEARHC leadership to align clinical operations with strategic goals.
• Oversee implementation of electronic health records enhancements and training.
• Serve as liaison between SEARHC senior leadership and WMC inpatient staff.
