Carolina Casualty, a Berkley Company, is seeking a seasoned Chief Actuary to lead the Property and Casualty actuarial functions. You will direct rating, pricing, and loss reserve initiatives, partnering with executives to set strategic actuarial direction and ensure solvency.

The role requires FCAS and 10+ years of related experience, including 8 years in people leadership within P&C. Expect collaboration with rating agencies and ongoing modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math/statistics, Economics, finance or other related disciplines.
• FCAS designation.
• 10+ years of progressive related experience developing strategies and delivering results.
• 8 years of people leadership experience in actuarial roles.
• 5+ years leading teams in property & casualty actuarial roles.

Responsibilities

• Directs the Property and Casualty actuarial functions of the organization.
• Oversees monitoring, evaluating, and reporting of rating formulas.
• Approves prospect and renewal rates for experience-rated business.
• Advises management on major rating assumptions.
• Collaborates with executives on overall actuarial direction.
• Coordinates the quarterly Reserve and Reinsurance Committees.
