The New York State Department of Financial Services seeks experienced actuaries for Life and Health Bureaus to oversee pricing, solvency, and market conduct of NY life and health insurers. You will supervise reserve valuations, evaluate agent compensation plans, and participate in regulatory initiatives.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and SOA exams (MLC, MFE) with five years of actuarial experience in regulatory or pension contexts. NY HELPS and permanent employment offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• SOA examinations MLC, MFE and four additional exams, or Enrolled Actuary with three additional exams.
• Five years actuarial experience in regulatory, pension or reserves work.

Responsabilités

• Oversee actuarial analysis of reserve valuations for life insurers.
• Evaluate actuarial implications of agent compensation plans.
• Assess projections related to acquisitions, mergers and solvency tests.
• Review premium rating and policy forms for compliance.
• Draft regulations, legislation, and circular letters.
• Represent the agency at NAIC meetings and task forces.
