Job summary

Pacific Life in Omaha, NE seeks a Senior Actuary to support Fixed Annuity Valuation with primary responsibility for Bermuda Monetary Authority reporting. The role owns valuation and financial reporting, analyzes results, and drives improvements across cross-functional projects.

The candidate will collaborate with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders, coordinate MRM initiatives, and guide junior team members while leveraging Prophet where relevant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• FSA designation with 4+ years of actuarial experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong technical skills with actuarial valuation & financial reporting experience.
• Ability to analyze complex results and communicate insights to management.
• Experience with Prophet is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the quarterly and annual valuation and financial reporting for fixed annuity products under BMA regime, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Analyze valuation results, including attribution, drivers, and quarter-over-quarter movements for management updates.
• Coordinate responses to auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders with supporting actuarial analysis.
• Identify and implement process and analytical enhancements, including automation opportunities and stronger controls.
• Support Model Risk Management initiatives, including documentation and governance adherence.
• Lead testing/validation of model enhancements and assess financial impacts with proper controls.
• Develop valuation databases, tools, and reporting capabilities for analysis and ad hoc requests.
• Provide technical guidance and peer review to actuarial team members and advance best practices.
• Perform ad hoc analyses and contribute to strategic initiatives.
