Job summary

Highmark Inc. in Maryland seeks a senior actuarial analyst to participate in the Actuarial Executive Development Program, progressing toward credentialing while guiding analyses and presenting findings to decision makers.

You will develop studies across pricing, reserving, medical economics and predictive modeling, mentor staff, and help create efficient processes that inform management and support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or closely related discipline.
• Master's degree preferred in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or closely related discipline.
• 3 years experience in an actuarial role.
• 6 exam components required; 10+ components preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define & diagnose a problem, outline data requirements for a study, and devise potential solutions.
• Create studies, analyses, and presentation materials for decision makers and provide recommendations to management across teams.
• Proactively ensure internal and external consistency of all work and perform reasonability checks.
• Mentor less experienced staff and seek continual feedback for professional development.
• Lead by example, manage time/resources across multiple projects, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
