Job summary

National Life Group is seeking an experienced Actuary to lead ALM modeling for the enterprise framework in Addison, TX. You will own ALM model design and work with leadership to deliver robust insights across assets, liabilities, and investment strategy.

The role requires 8–10+ years of actuarial experience (5+ in ALM), FSA/ASA, and MG-ALFA proficiency, with a focus on communicating complex results to senior management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive actuarial experience for Senior Actuary level, or 8+ years for Actuary level, including at least 5 years in ALM or asset-intensive actuarial work.
• Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (FSA or ASA).
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or related quantitative discipline.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining actuarial projection models on an open platform (MG-ALFA preferred).
• Working knowledge of asset modeling, including fixed income cash flows, structured assets, reinvestment and disinvestment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise ALM model and asset liability management (ALM) framework.
• Model the general account investment portfolio and economic scenario sets used across ALM analyses.
• Produce and explain ALM results, including duration, convexity and sensitivity under various rate/equity scenarios.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to translate questions into modeling specifications and deliver clear insights.
• Support ALM-related workstreams such as asset adequacy testing, ORSA, and capital planning.
