Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Insight is seeking a Senior Director Actuarial Consulting to lead the GPA practice focused on Medicare, Medicaid, and Dual-Eligible populations. You will guide actuarial teams, manage payer client relationships, and drive strategic advisory projects across Optum and UnitedHealthcare.

This remote role lets you work from anywhere in the U.S., with an in-office four‑day schedule in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. depending on client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• ASA or FSA designation required.
• 13+ years actuarial experience.
• 7+ years leading a team.
• 5+ years in actuarial consulting.
• 5+ years in Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Drives the growth and quality delivery of existing client relationships.
• Drives the development of new client relationships.
• Provides guidance and leadership to other actuarial staff in a professional and diligent manner to drive growth for the GPA practice.
• Coordinates with multiple areas of Optum and United Healthcare to bring the best and most appropriate services to our customers.
• Establish, maintain, and own relationships with payer clients and execute against projects around various Actuarial products/services, as well as other Optum healthcare offerings relevant to their business needs.
