Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst for a Detroit-area hybrid role with the option for remote work. You will lead reserving frameworks, develop advanced analytics, and communicate results to senior leadership.

Strong programming skills (R; Python a plus) and ACAS progress are required, with 4+ years in actuarial/data science and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. The role offers robust Total Rewards, competitive base pay, and the potential for bonuses, with benefits

Qualifications

• ACAS or near ACAS preferred; 5+ Casualty Actuarial Society exams required
• 4+ years of actuarial or data science experience; exposure to advanced ratemaking and/or reserving is a plus
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Programming in R required (SQL useful)

Responsibilities

• Support a reserving framework for insurance business, including both standard actuarial techniques and advanced modeling
• Lead, develop, and communicate advanced analytics to Management and Senior Leadership
• Foster innovation within the team and across the broader organization
• Work collaboratively as a part of the product development, pricing, and/or reserving processes
• Develop reserve indications, produce reserve ranges, and perform advanced analytics
• Support development of themselves and other associates in an actuarial capacity and according to Ally vision and mission statement
