Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to build and maintain a robust reserving framework for Ally Insurance. The role combines leading projects from conception to execution, conducting advanced analytics, and communicating results to leadership.

Expect high visibility and opportunities for advancement with strong programming requirements in R, SQL, or Python. The position is primarily Detroit-hybrid with a possible remote option, offering an extensive Total Rewards package

Qualifications

• ACAS or near ACAS; 5+ exams required
• 4+ years actuarial or data science; exposure to ratemaking/reserving a plus
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Programming skills in R; SQL useful
• Ability to adapt to change and adjust priorities quickly
• High problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Well-organized and detail-oriented
• Self-directed and motivated
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• US work authorization on a permanent basis

Responsibilities

• Support a reserving framework using standard actuarial techniques and advanced modeling
• Lead, develop, and communicate advanced analytics to Management and Senior Leadership
• Foster innovation within the team and across the organization
• Collaborate with product development, pricing, and reserving processes
• Develop reserve indications and ranges; perform advanced analytics
• Support development of associates in actuarial capacity and Ally vision
