Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Medical Economics Enablement team in Detroit. You will transform complex healthcare data into actionable insights, build scalable BI content, and support enterprise priorities through data-driven recommendations.

The role requires 4+ years of actuarial experience and 5+ ASA exams, with strong SQL and Power BI skills. Hybrid work with opportunities across states and a parallel Actuarial Development Program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 4+ years of experience in actuarial work. Related experience may be considered.
• Must have completed 5 or more exams toward ASA.
• In lieu of meeting minimum exam requirements, may consider additional relevant experience.
• In lieu of meeting minimum experience requirement, ASA or more exams toward ASA acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Develops reporting structure, toolset and analytic strategy to support market and domain teams as well as pricing for programs and products.
• Supports the rating process by determining the need for and building actuarial model enhancements.
• Distributes established reports and responds to inquiries; investigates trends and anomalies.
• Coordinate and independently develop BI content (reports, dashboards, scorecards, and more complex analytic solutions) through the full life-cycle for data-driven decisions.
• Share expertise with business areas to aid understanding of enterprise data content and available BI tools; maintain knowledge base.
• Plan, implement, manage and contribute to moderate/high complexity projects.
• Participate in the Actuarial Development Program.
