Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in Hayward, CA is seeking an Activity Assistant for a part-time role. You will help plan and promote engaging activities and outings to enhance residents' independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities include supporting the Activity Director, recruiting volunteers, communicating with residents and families, maintaining safety, and driving community vehicles. Must be 18+, HS diploma, and MS Office proficient.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C, prefer either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• Vaccination/testing and PPE requirements may be implemented per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in providing an engaging, creative social atmosphere and promote resident participation through high-quality activities.
• Develop, recruit, manage and schedule Community Volunteers.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment following established safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with colleagues.
