Job summary

Oakmont Mariner Point is seeking an Activity Assistant to organize and promote engaging activities for residents, enhancing independence and quality of life. The role supports the Activity Director, recruits volunteers, and fosters a welcoming, safe, and collaborative community atmosphere.

Ideal candidates will be 18+, with a high school diploma, comfort with MS Office, and the ability to supervise volunteers and coordinate events.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors
• Requires current Class C license with Passenger Endorsement
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests.
• Vaccination, daily screening, and PPE may be required to prevent spread of diseases per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, clubs, games, and art/creativity opportunities.
• Develop, recruit, manage and schedule Community Volunteers as requested.
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment following established safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
