Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Charleston, SC seeks an energetic Activities Assistant to support resident life. You will help develop and run monthly activity programs across wellness dimensions, lead multiple daily activities, and connect with residents and families to boost participation.

You’ll survey residents, coordinate with care teams, recruit volunteers, and maintain records. A valid driver’s license and flexible schedule are required to meet community needs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; entry level position with 1–3 years experience highly desired.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexible, imaginative, engaging and with a passion for working with seniors.
• Experience organizing, conducting, and planning programs and activities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing, planning, and implementing a monthly program of activities and supplies based on wellness dimensions.
• Lead 6–7 high quality programs per day.
• Survey and interview residents to complete the Resident Life Profile and determine interests and satisfaction.
• Coordinate with program team to plan calendars, events, and outings for the upcoming month.
• Develop relationships with residents and families to promote participation and satisfaction.
• Document and maintain all required records.
• Organize resident council meetings and program areas.
• Recruit, coordinate, and oversee a robust volunteer program.
• Promote programs by posting notices and posters.
• Arrange chairs, tables, and equipment for activities and return to order.
• Provide transportation to groceries, shopping, leisure activities, and doctor appointments when directed.
• Assist in off-site outings for residents with transportation and safety.
