Job summary

Liberty Healthcare Management Lumberton, NC, is seeking an experienced Activities Director to lead resident programs and coordinate the activities calendar. Plan, promote, and conduct indoor and outdoor activities; assess needs; and inform new patients and families about the activity program, with preference for a Recreational Therapy degree and NC licensure eligibility.

The role includes supervising volunteers, maintaining participation records, and collaborating with staff to promote wellness

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer a degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Eligible for NC license as an occupational therapist or assistant, or NC certification as recreation therapist or assistant, or completion of an approved 36-hour+ activities program management course.
• Experience in Long Term Care and activities program management preferred.
• Strong computer skills and documentation experience (MDS, progress notes).

Responsibilities

• Plans, promotes, and leads activities for residents.
• Informs new patients and families about the Activity Program.
• Completesactivities assessments for each designated resident.
• Conducts indoor and outdoor recreational activities.
• Conducts educational, creative, expressive activities and exercise.
• Supervises scheduling and posting of all events and programs.
• Supervises Volunteer Program and training of volunteers.
