Job summary

Owen Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Indiana is seeking an Activities Assistant to support planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating therapy and recreational programs for residents, in alignment with care plans and supervision.

You will observe resident participation, work with other departments, prepare activity spaces, maintain records, and help residents with crafts and social activities, aiming to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being for all

Qualifications

Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department preferred.
Patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs and the quality assurance program for the Activities Department.
Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior and involvement; report and chart progress.
Develop and maintain rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly and create a warm, calm environment.
Prepare activity rooms and equipment; recommend supplies and equipment needs.
Follow the care plan when providing daily activities for residents.
Oversee residents during activities to promote physical, social and mental well-being.
