Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Ann Adult Day Service is seeking a Lead Activity Assistant (GNA) to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of daily activities for participants, while monitoring for behavioral changes and addressing needs. The work schedule is Monday to Friday 7 AM - 3 PM.

St. Ann Adult Day Service provides medical supervision and a structured day program for elders and those with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience of activity coordination with the elderly.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or become certified within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop monthly and daily staff activity schedules.
• Plan and list activity options for participants.
• Implement and oversee program activities to meet participants' needs and interests.
• Coordinate, plan, and assist staff with outings and field trips.
• Assist in conducting activity assessments with participants as requested.
• Maintain inventory of activity supplies.
• Encourage participation in arts, crafts, music, and more.
• Assist with transportation and related duties.
• Support the Director with marketing needs and special projects.
• Address caregiver concerns and refer to Program Director.
• Set up meals, serve food, and complete meal tallies.
• Provide personal care and daily living instruction under nursing supervision.
• Assist nursing staff with monitoring vital signs.
• Provide in-service training to other staff.
• Maintain a safe and organized environment and report health/safety issues.
