Job summary

National Health Care Associates, Inc. in Brewer, Maine is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents.

Your creativity and enthusiasm will help create a positive, lively atmosphere and meaningful connections with seniors and their families. You will collaborate with the Activities Director to develop a monthly activities calendar, provide one-on-one support, and document participation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long-Term Care or senior living preferred but not required; training provided.
• Compassionate and empathetic by nature.
• Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents
• Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar
• Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance
• Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents
• Document and maintain records of residents' participation in activities
