Job summary

Isles of Boynton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boynton Beach, FL, is seeking a dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the Activities Director in planning and delivering engaging programs that enhance the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our residents.

You will help create monthly calendars, coordinate transportation within the facility, and assist in conducting activities that promote well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid CNA license/certification (required).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a nursing home setting (preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Activities Director in creating and posting a monthly calendar of activities in large print for residents and visitors.
• Ensuring a copy of the activity calendar is placed in each resident’s room.
• Interviewing residents and/or family members to identify activity preferences.
• Coordinating and assisting residents in getting to and from activities within the facility.
• Assisting in conducting scheduled programs that promote overall well-being.
• Documenting resident attendance and completing progress notes that reflect participation and response.
• Observing resident mood, behavior, and engagement levels, reporting changes or concerns to the Activities Director.
• Encouraging resident and family involvement in activity planning when possible.
