Job summary

Fort Myers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Fort Myers, Florida is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to support residents through engaging recreational programs and social events.

You will work with the activities director to plan, lead, and evaluate activities, build relationships with residents, and maintain schedules and records, contributing to a caring, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in the senior care industry preferred.
• Ability to lift and move light weights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities programs for residents, including social events, recreational activities, and therapeutic programs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents to understand their interests and preferences, and tailor activities to meet their needs.
• Coordinate and lead activities, such as arts and crafts, exercise classes, and entertainment programs.
• Collaborate with the activities director to develop and implement activity plans, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules.
• Support the activities department in other tasks, as needed.
