Vaco Recruiter Services is assisting a high-growth technology and manufacturing client in Sunnyvale, CA, for an Interim Senior Accounting Manager specializing in Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting. Hybrid work arrangement includes in-office presence three days per week.

The role focuses on monthly reconciliations, asset lifecycle management, COGS analyses, and close support for a 3-month engagement with potential extension. CPA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing/tech/inventory-heavy environments.
• Strong experience with fixed asset accounting and inventory accounting.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday or similar.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large data sets.
• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and related accounting entries.
• Analyze inventory activity, variances, rebates, yield losses, and related operational impacts.
• Ensure proper classification and accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventories.
• Review COGS activity and prepare variance analyses with explanations.
• Manage full fixed asset lifecycle: additions, transfers, disposals, depreciation, capitalization.
• Maintain fixed asset records and ensure compliance with policies and reporting.
• Monitor construction-in-progress balances and capitalization timing.
• Assist with month-end/quarter-end close, audit support, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement to improve processes and accuracy.

Interim Senior Accounting Manager - Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounting

Our client, a high-growth technology and manufacturing company, is seeking a Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounting Consultant to support its Finance and Operations teams during a period of rapid growth and operational scaling.

This position is hybrid with in-office requirements 3 days/week in Sunnyvale, CA. This role has a duration of 3 months, with potential to extend.

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and prepare related accounting entries.
• Analyze inventory activity, manufacturing variances, rebates, yield losses, and related operational accounting impacts.
• Ensure accurate classification and accounting treatment of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory.
• Review cost of goods sold activity and prepare variance analyses and supporting explanations.
• Manage the full fixed asset lifecycle, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and capitalization activities.
• Maintain fixed asset records and support compliance with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
• Monitor construction-in-progress balances and support timely capitalization of projects.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, audit support, and financial reporting deliverables.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams to improve processes and ensure accounting accuracy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, technology, or inventory-intensive environments.
• Strong experience with fixed asset accounting and inventory accounting.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar platforms.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze large volumes of financial and operational data.
• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
